In the Waiting Room

We dwell in the lap of forced patience
On hard chairs we wait our turn

Hope skipping through our hearts

In my heart my doubts hold sway
God’s ears too busy for my prayers

Prayers whispered pass on the wind
It blows a warning through our bones

Through my bones I saw a dream
A premonition of an empty house
