.furloughed.

sonja benskin mesher

apologies in that I never came back here yesterday

i only went to clean a window
neglected

saw the encroaching plants

and other stuff

it is the place by the church where there
used to be a door to our place

olden days they say

she rang while I was in the grave yard with the spade
digging

so we sat on the stone and chatted in the late autumn sun

the old black cat joined us

later they came to look at the roof
they knew all the words and gestures

enjoyed the heat
initially

yet I found

i am used to being here alone

quiet
