It was my hour of darkness and the snow was pounding The January blizzards had cars in silence. The snow outside keeps falling down It's like an old familiar friend, I knew for 2 years too soon and 2 years too long. And i'm holed up in this lonely place Depression's got me again, noxious in my own island. I pour another drink or two Just to numb the pain inside But it never lasts for long enough And i'm left here to hide in some Cincinnati hotel. I put on Hearts on Fire and dream away your trance. His voice speaks to my soul, but even then I can't escape, the darkness in your dancing. It's January in this quiet town. The painful are all inside in heartbreak.
