pause to consider opening windows to the spring of breath, bird gabble, gunned revved pulls up our streetdove cooed, icecream tuned, motorbike zipped, bee buzzed, cat loped, dog marked, DIY drilled, mowed lawn, doors slammed, gates clanged air of a day.

when all is said and done, when all goes onward, a foot forward watches for a drift of ground backwards into steps already taken, actions once more demanded in the pattern of things, whether a knot untied, or retied, or in a different arrangement, the wheel turned, or corrected. Later goes on.
